Our story at Made by Rice 3D Studio
A maker studio with real-world roots
We started with our first FDM 3D printer back in 2016 — and it’s still running today. Since then, Made by Rice 3D Studio has grown into a workshop that blends creative work with production discipline: reliable machines, repeatable settings, and a process that scales beyond a single hobby printer.
Today we create in-stock items, small-batch runs, prototypes, and repairs — plus vinyl decals and branded goods — all with a focus on quality and consistency.
About Paul & the family
I’m Paul — a father of four with over 30 years in systems and network engineering. My background includes machine repair, marketing, web design, and operations. I was raised in a family-owned movie theater, which taught me early that great work is a mix of creativity and execution: keep equipment reliable, run a clean process, and take care of customers.
Made by Rice is family-run, and the “family” part is real — from brainstorming ideas to helping test prints, pack orders, and keep the shop moving.

What we make
In-stock drops, collectibles, replicas, figurines, fidget-friendly items, wall art, and decals — plus functional parts and small-run production when consistency matters.
Custom projects
We take on custom work when it’s a good fit. If you need a specific color, size, or finish, we can usually accommodate. Typical custom turnaround is about ~2 weeks, depending on complexity and queue.
Giving back
A percentage of profits is donated annually to organizations close to our hearts, including the National Down Syndrome Society.
